Hello, I’m Leah

I am the founder of The Sleep Snug and certified Infant Sleep Consultant and I’ve completed the SIDS and Safer Sleep for Babies training with The Lullaby Trust. I’m also mum to a two year old so I know exactly why you are here: you need some support and guidance with your baby or child’s sleep, but you don’t want to compromise on your parenting style and you certainly don’t want to leave them to cry.

I decided to create The Sleep Snug after working with a sleep consultant for my own daughter at 6 months old. She had previously been sleeping reasonably well and then she suddenly stopped sleeping at night and I was exhausted.

I had tried everything and all of the advice online was conflicting and overwhelming. Instagram was bombarding me with “perfect routines” and “sleep training” literature. My daughter wasn’t a robot, none of these routines were right for her and I didn’t want to leave her to cry it out.

The consultant I worked with really helped us and gave me the confidence to manage the changes in my daughter’s sleep ever since. I then went on to learn more about sleep and the education empowered me to see challenges coming up, understand why they were happening and work out how to change what needed changing.

And so, I completed my Sleep Consultant certification and built The Sleep Snug.

My approach is to work with parents to educate them on what is happening with their baby or child’s sleep and use that knowledge to build a bespoke solution for that child’s individual needs. No two children are the same, a generic routine is not going to be right for them.

When working 1:1 I will send you a detailed questionnaire which will provide me with a holistic view of your baby’s sleep challenge along with: feeding, diet, developmental milestones, routine, sleep environment and parenting style.

All of this impacts overall sleep and having a full view allows me to provide the best advice for your child.

We will then have a Virtual Consultation to discuss my recommendations, answer all of your questions and build your Bespoke Sleep Plan.

My Approach

Your Plan will include

Summary of the challenges and your goals.

Step by step plan for how to reach your sleep goals.

Troubleshooting and FAQ.

Additional literature relating to any sleep strategies we use.

Forward look at what’s coming up next for your child’s sleep e.g. moving from three naps to two, the signs of readiness and how to do it.

Extra Recommended Resources you can trust.

Follow Up Support

You also have the option of adding on follow up support to guide you through implementing your plan and making any tweaks along the way.

Essentially, you get me in your pocket for three weeks.

The follow up support is optional and you can always add it on later.

My Experience

I am certified as an Infant Sleep Consultant. My certification is a CPD accredited qualification provided by The Sleep Boss Business School.

I am also a member of the Child Sleep Society which is a society and community for sleep consultants in the UK. It focuses on continued professional development for consultants. I regularly undertake their webinars to further my education and learn from the experience of others.

I have experience working with lots of families with newborns all the way up to age 7 years. Sleep support is not just for babies! See a selection of my client work on my Success Stories page.

With this platform I am aiming to build a community of likeminded parents and a full range of products and resources they can trust again and again.

I hope you find The Sleep Snug to be a judgement free and safe space to work on your little one’s sleep. All of the methods I use are evidence based, gentle and focus on attachment parenting.

I have a range of self-paced guides available or if you’d like bespoke 1:1 support, please go ahead and book in a free chat and we can discuss the right package for you.

FAQs

What is the difference between what you do and sleep training?

The term “sleep training” most commonly refers to the more traditional methods such as cry it out or the extinction method. I don’t use either of these. I look at the full picture of your child’s sleep including: age, routine, environment, developmental milestones, feeding, diet, parenting style and use evidence-based sleep strategies to build a plan that is bespoke to your child. Read more about this on my blog.

What if I don’t need three weeks of follow up support?

That’s absolutely fine. You don’t have to book in follow up support at the beginning. You can add it on later, on a weekly basis, if you feel you could do with some additional support. If you do book three weeks of support up front, and we don’t need it all, I will bank them for you and you can come back later on, at any time, if you need support in the future.

What if it doesn’t work?

I don’t offer guarantees and you should be wary of anyone who does. Sleep is a biological function and the service I offer looks to improve sleep by implementing healthy foundations and habits and working to change things which aren’t working for you anymore. However, if you are unhappy with the service we can discuss this at the time and change the plan where necessary.

My partner doesn’t think we need help with sleep but I’m the one up with the baby - what do I do?

This is a really common scenario. Often, but not always, it is the mum who comes to me looking for support but her partner doesn’t think it will be worth the money. In this case, it is usually the mum dealing with the night wakings and stressing about routines and nap schedules whilst their partner is at work.

What I say to mums in that instance is to frame it to your partner in the following way: being a mum is my job and I need help with it. If you need help with something at work you would seek help from someone who can do that too. The money is not only an investment in improving your child’s sleep but also the sleep and overall wellbeing of the whole family.

Can I pay in instalments?

I do offer this on a case by case basis. If you would like to spread your payments over three months, please get in touch and we can discuss. I’d love to help where I can.

Do you offer gift cards?

If you would like to gift one of my packages (The Starter Kit is popular with parents to be!) then get in touch and I can arrange that for you.

If you have any questions about my packages or guides or anything else sleep related then Get in Touch.
